Is this finally a duck egg? It was out in the run this morning and only the ducks are out at night. But I could have missed it when I did my quick run through yesterday. I have Swedish, Pekin, Rouen and Khaki Campbells (these ones are roughly just old enough to start laying).

Is the surface kind of waxy?

Is the other option a chicken egg? It is very likely it's a duck egg, but it seems too brown...

My Harlequin eggs are often a little on the dark cream side--especially their first ones. They have a very smooth feel that feels heavier than a chicken eggshell. My duck eggs are a little harder to crack and when I hardboil them, their shells peel off cleanly despite being fresh. Has the egg in the photo been washed? Mine wash to almost as white as the chicken eggs I get from the store.
