DUCK EGGS DYING!!!

Hi! My duck laid 30 eggs...

Most were fertile and had nice veins but the next time I checked it was clear as if there never was something in.

I now have two that are still alive left... Why do they keep on dying? And also when will my duck stop laying eggs?

The eggs may have been to old and after 10 days of saving eggs you should set them they could have been a little old if the eggs are stinking I would say the eggs were to old. Good luck hope this info helps!!

is the duck broody or just laying? what breed is the duck?

She is a Blue Swede Mallard mix. She lays on the eggs but, as I understand, when she stands up the male is supposed to lay on the eggs? He doesn't do that. I got an egg yesterday again, he is about 7 days old and has nice veining...but no heart...

no the male duck wont sit on the eggs.

the female should lay 12-15 eggs and then sit on them continuously except to eat and poop.

if she is not sitting then they wont hatch

I put them in the incubator... It look like she stopped at 30. Also I noticed there was no heart forming? Just the veins. Not even a dark spot...

If there is veins you need to leave the eggs incubator here growing but they're in early stages of incubation if you don't see a dark mass inside the egg

I had to throw most out since there was no further veining or growing. Most had something in but all the babies had died.I;m pretty sure only one baby will come from this batch.

Hi! Thanks but I got them the same day they were laid?

Well the oy reason you should throw them out is if you have a bloodring or if its infertile
