Duck eggs not in nest

Hey so I’m new to ducks however on Sunday they laid there first egg. (I have 4 females btw) yesterday the laid one and today I got 2! However I’m not sure why but they seem to just leave them in just plopped in the floor?!! I thought they at least made nests. It doesn’t bother me I was just surprised. They also hid an egg yesterday! I anyone know why they keep doing this?

Ducks don't care much where they lay their eggs. Especially new layers who can't quite figure out what is happening to them. Mine currently have a nice nesting box that no one uses. I have two that bury and I have to search for those darn eggs every day. One that just nonchalantly plops out an egg where ever she happens to be at the time. Short answer, very normal behavior.

Okay! I have 4 different nesting boxes but they don’t seem to use those I think that’s normal though. Thanks for helping me I’m sorry I’m sorta new to this and just get confused sometimes.

If you want them to lay in a specific place what helped my ducks was dummy eggs. I've gotten them at Amazon, at feed stores, or used ping pong or golf balls. I put them in their nesting box and they layed in there every time! They seem to really want to lay where there are already eggs. It also helped keep the eggs significantly cleaner.

After a year I thought they had the point. Put the eggs in the box. I removed the dummy eggs. They layed in their pool. In the middle of the barn. In the poop. Oh ducks.
