Duck eggs?

We have 13 ducks on our farm and they are just under a year old. I have seen them mate but still have not found any eggs. How old are ducks when they start laying eggs? Do they only lay during a certain season? Also, since ours are free range, is there any chance that they might find one spot to start laying their eggs or will they lay them where ever they feel like it?

Usually they'll start laying around 5 or 6 months old, tho if they come to be ready to lay while the days are quite short then they may wait till spring. Some of my girls are quite particular about laying in the nest box, others lay where ever they happen to be

My girls lay very early in the morning... Do you coop your ducks overnight? Perhaps they've hidden a nest somewhere? They're really good at that!
