Duck feed getting into water dish

Hi, i need some help a minor one. My ducklings eat and then drink almost immidiately after pecking at the food, when they drink most of the food inside their bills gets spewed out and im worried that they might not get enough food in them because of the food getting spewed out. How do i fix this ?

Hi Deggy, welcome to BYC...
This is normale duck behavior. Don’t worry!
if you would put your ducks outside, close to soil, they will dig something up with their bills and go sifting trough the water too...

Ducks need water to properly swallow their food... you can provide water without food but never the other way around...

Normal behavior. I'd love to find a way to "fix" this, as the ducks seem to be wasting way more food than they're eating. It seems like it all ends up on the ground, or in the bottom of their water.....
