So I had anther thread about niacin and was told is was the exact same thing as b3
I've got 5 four day old ducklings
I've got chick crumbs and they are eating well and It does not say if its medicated or non medicated but it says on the packet feed to all chicks including ducklings so I think it it's good
I'm gonna get some B3 vitamin tablets and I will crush one pill in every bowl I give them or shall I put it in water instead???
I've also found this http://www.ukpoultrysupplies.co.uk/poultry-feed/duck-goose-feed/duck-and-goose-starter-crumbs-20kg
Should I change my feed to this?
Does this all sound good? Or should I change something ? So worried I'm gonna kill my ducklings :(
Thank you!

Thank you!
You are not going to kill your ducklings. if you can get duck/goose starter then by all means get it then they won't need niacin or b3. How about some pics. But if you already have the chick starter and don't want to waste it then get the b3 and add to that or to their water 1X a day 100-150 mgs.

Yep, what ML says! if your using a feed that says okay for ducks from day 1 you likely don't need any extra, i have a feed that is for ducks from day 1 it's not duck starter though it's a multi purpose feed.

Pictures of what?

Oh yer one more thing I know that ducks can't have cedar wood but I got some wood shavings but it didn't say what type of wood it was so I phoned the shop and they said they weren't sure so they kindly looked it up and said they couldn't actually find the type of wood but they said its soft wood
Can I use soft wood?

I think ML meant of your ducklings.

I can see though the feed clearly says okay for ducklings, you could call the mfg and inquire and relay your concerns on the niacin.

Softwood shavings are fine, i have this type available to me..

Here's what I'm feeding them they love it should i get the extra B3?
usually if it says for ducklings/waterfowl then it has adequate niacin but I think I would contact them just to be sure. I use an all flock and the only time I used niacin[brewers yeast ] was when I had a single duckling inside and just wanted to make sure he was getting enough since he wasn't out on the ground with the rest of the flock. I'm using Brewers yeast now to see if it will help my old drake who has leg problems. and everyone is getting it. and yes would love to see pics of your ducklings
