Should i leave this newly hatched chick with her for a while? We want to raise them in a cage because this momma usually leaves the chicks after she hatches them out. So the chick hatched today should i leave it with her, i think more should be on their way.

I don't know the answer to this, but 30 people have viewed this post. Doesn't anyone have an answer?

I would watch her very carefully, she wont take her for a swim will she?
I would treat this the same as for a stepmum chicken, but hopefully someone else will help here!

Someone on here a few months back, had a duck hatch chickens. I think they should do just fine....as long as there is no water for the chicks to " swim " in. The only thing......chick starter, the medicated kind, is not good for ducks. Maybe the unmedicated...but then the chicks wont get the meds THEY need.

We took the chick and it's inside our house safe and warm!
