It would be great if anyone could help me out here. I'm so confused on what to feed my ducks! I have 4 nine week old Rouens and 6 seven week old Pekins. They are on chick starter feed right now. It just seems that every time I go to the animal feed store someone always tells me different suggestions for food. I've been reading a book on ducks too..but still a little confused.

I feed my ducks the same as the chickens. They started off on chick raiser. Then when they got older, they all got a laying mash that i get from my feed mill. also they get all the treats my kids can think off -- leftover anything, grass, catmint, worms, minnows, whatever!!

If you can find duck food, that would be my first choice. If you cannot, then Purina Flock Raiser is a good second choice. I have started keeping mine on waterfowl starter (which I don't have any more of because it is hard to find) or Flock Raiser for the first two weeks with a small amount of oats sprinkled on the top.

At two weeks, I start adding more oats in order to bring down the protein a little. Over the next few weeks, I get it down to about 20% oats, 80% crumbles. I also feed a little bit of crushed granite grit.

I also feed TONS of fresh greens from the very first week. I have mostly bantams. By the time they are outside and able to forage, they really reduce the amount of dry feed they eat on their own.

I have always started my on Dumor chick/duck starter/grower 20% protein then move them to Dumor starter/finisher then they go to multi-flock game feed,I dont feed layer because of the boys I give the girls oyster shells...
Tons of green my like frozen peas, and Kale...
