Duck has a damaged or infected eye, please help!

Came home yesterday and noticed my ducks eye was closed & super gross looking. I was able to catch him and clean it out the best I could yesterday and it does look a bit better today, but I’m very worried about him. I cleaned it the best I could today and put some neosporin around his eyelid. I will be buying saline solution tomorrow, I currently live in the middle of nowhere and will have to make a trip tomorrow to pick some up. The piece hanging off his lower lid came off very gently after being soaked in water. Any ideas at all?

Poor guy.

General Care is to flush the eyes with saline, then put an ointment like Terramycin Eye ointment IN the eye. You can use Original Neosporin in the eye if that's all you have.

Clean/flush, remove pus/debris and apply ointment at least 2X a day. 3 would be better if possible.

Terramycin is prescription only in my state unfortunately..

I did put some Neosporin around his eye today, it’s nighttime now so doing another checkup on him in the morning and grabbing some saline as well. I feel so bad for him!

You can order Terramycin eye ointment from Amazon.

Most feed stores generally carry it, but it's usually locked up since the tube is so small, you may have to ask for it.
