Hello,
I have a newly hatched one and a half day old baby mallard that has a foot or leg bent under its body and looks to have no foot function it can move its shoulder perfectly fine but it is walking on its hock. Looks to me like a defect I had tried to splay the foot out no response and I did flick its toenail doesn't seem to have sensation right now could I splint this leg and hopefully straighten it out

It is bent and it is under belly,. When walking can stand on I believe hock joint but scoots everywhere

If the toes are always curled like that she'll need a cardboard shoe!

1)Cut cardboard size of foot
2)Place foot on cardboard and spread out toes
3)Put tape or plaster on top of toes
4)It helps straighted them out

I felt the joint it's bent inward will this still help. I see someone has a plastic cast like splint on line that covers whole leg and has foot splay I don't mind paying for one but I'm concerned the joint is also bent
