duck has mucus hanging from mouth???

She seems fine, I caught her and tried to get it out, but it was kind of stuck? She doesn't act like she feels bad at all, just is trying to get it out of her mouth. Could she have just eaten a big banana slug and that is the byproduct? Anyone have a clue?

I'd guess that she ate a couple big slugs. My ducks do that and they eventually clean out their beaks but it is gross while it lasts . . .

That is what I thought, but it is the first time I have seen it, so it worried me. I know if I get a little slug slime on me there is almost nothing that can get it off, can't imagine what eating one might be like!

Yes, thanks. It is all cleared up. I checked on her about 15 minutes later and it was gone.

my duck ate a pretty big slug early and now she seems frantic about getting rid of the amount of slime it producing. She doesnt seem to like it at all. And I've heard water just makes the slime...slimier.

Give her something like a piece of bread or dry grains..
