Duck has very little down on her back, can see skin

can you post pictures please? of her back and also her poop đź’©
All poops I've seen look normal. I can try to get a photo of her back, though my camera isn't that good at focusing close up and though she's fairly good with handling, her patience with me is minimal lol

Does she have access to swimming water? Is a molt a possibility now?
Oh yes, lots of access, all day. If it were a molt it'd be way after everyone else, and she had seemed to already have been through one when they did. And with molts I've never seen all the down from the top of the back gone as well as weight loss :)

How is your duck doing?
She's doing well, still eating, drinking, foraging as normal. She doesn't seem to have lost anymore feathers but I haven't had a chance to take a photo of what her back looks like. I'm concerned that without the down on her back she won't be okay outside in the coop during the winter, we're in the Northeast.

did you use a dewormer ?
and have you been able to check for parasites like mites? ducks that swim alot rarely get them but it’s still a possibility

no I didn't because I haven't brought her to be tested yet. I don't want to administer without testing first. I have checked her several times as far as visually for mites. Her skin looks normal and she's not itching at all. I was able to get a good look at her today and it looks like the down might be growing back in some areas. Doesn't look as bald as it was before. Definitely not as thick as it used to be though. Some of her top feathers are pretty ragged though, a lot of quill from the middle down without much feather. Not able to get a photo under her wings without assistance as she's too wiggly right now. I have been giving natural worm dewormer/preventative such as pumpkin, seeds and guts, garlic, zucchini, etc. She and the others gobble it up. I know opinions vary on efficacy on natural routes but doing it anyway.... if anything it's super healthy :)

that’s great she’s growing some back in. i like natural health supplements too I frequently give apple cider vinegar (with the mother) with some crushed garlic soaked into it . 1 tbsp per gallon of drinking water .

Yes! For sure! I've been doing that also right along! I dice a clove of garlic in their water with a Tbsp of ACV always with the mother :) Also a drop or so of Oil of Oregano. I like to add things like parsley to their food as well when I can. I am concerned with how thin her top feathers are if she'll be able to stay warm this winter, especially if the down doesn't come back in all the way
