Duck house

i dont know if it rlly NEEDS a floor but it also depends on ehere you live. could it be exposed to a lot of rain and moisture making the ground uncomfortable? is it already in some sort of enclosure? how cold does it get? i would say a floor is definitely preferred. anyone else have a take on this???

I live in WA, we get a fair amount of weather. Another question; if I decide to build a floor how far up off te ground should it be? I have Muscovies and soon a Pekin (sp) pair? How big of a house should I make to house 4 Muscovies and the pair? I'm starting to think my plan is too small for all 6. Will maybe have to build 2.

it really doesnt need to be THAT high, maybe half a foot at the lowest just to let ventilation and cold air to drop??? also, i dont know how far you are with your project so it might be too late to mention this now put have you thought of building a duck tractor? heres a link to one i would like to build this summer. and i read somewhere if you plan to keep the ducks in the enclosure for a lot of the time, each average duck needs approx. 1.5 meters squared of space for themselves. i hope that can help you determine how big you should have your house!!!
