With you 100% Going Quackers, bare wire can damage feet and increase risk of infection. I want to acknowledge that there are a number of people who have wire-bottom cages, but my thoughts are that I don't want to risk it, and it doesn't seem that it would be as cushy as bedding.

Yes, I would dig hardware cloth/rocks below the surface surrounding the pin to help prevent critters from digging.

What type of floor is optimal?

My floor is wood, raised. Then i put rubber stall mats down( like for horses) i bed with a combination of shavings and wood pellet bedding(again like for horses)

LOL, guess i should have read further. Yes, but i do add bedding on top. They are great for insulation factor and clean up but i'll warn you if your not familiar they weight a ton!

Hi, I'm new here. My two Pekins love their ramp.

That's is fun yours will use one! generally, ducks don't so you do have to careful if they have to rely on that to gain protection that it is useable by them.

They use the ramp to get on and off of their elevated deck where their coop is.
