I know I should, but I don't have a humidity guage... I've been n00bish and am following the bator's instructions. It says to have one of the humidity plugs out to start and then remove the second one at a certain point. But it seems like some members have the humidity higher towards hatching time. So which is it? Shold humidity be higher or lower toward hatching?

Thanks.

Higher

You should need to add more water at some point in the process. Depending on the incubator the instructions can be slightly different.

Thanks. That's good to know before I get that far in the incubation.

The directions say to remove one vent plug to start. Then for the "Step 9: Hatching Eggs" part it said to remove the seond vent plug when you have 3 days left to increase ventilation.... OH, I see now. It also says increase humidity. I guess re-reading helps!

How do I increase the ventilation and the humidity at the same time? It said to fill up the moisture rings, so they're kept full already. Would adding some little dishes of water be an option?

Right now I have a wet sponge and a bowl filled with water and wash cloths. Now I have 65% humidity without having to run the hot air humidifier right near it at all times.
