Duck laying eggs in pool?

So about a week ago I discovered my pekin finally started laying. I was cleaning out their little baby pool and there was an egg in it! Every day since then I find an egg in the pool. I put some golf balls in the coop when I found the first egg but she doesn't seem to understand.
What should I do to teach her to lay in the nest boxes? She's my first duck to start laying I didn't expect her to lay eggs in the pool
Also, can I still egat them if they have been in the water? I've been just throwing them away bacause I don't know..
