So I thot the rooster would have his head cause the rooster was standing beside them , well the rooster pecked at the duck and walked off ? Why did he let his lady be dissed by A DUCK?

last spring i raised 4 chicks and 1 turkey poult together and 2 of the chicks turned out to be roos, both the roos have tried to get some turkey love

the first one to try was the more dominate of the two, he would try, she would decline and he would move on

then one day he had enough of being turned down and tried to just take it, BIG MISTAKE! she kicked his butt over and over and over again! (which inspired the less dominate roo to finaly start crowing) she would not give him any peace after that and i finaly had to rehome him for his own safety

now i still have the other roo and he also trys to get frisky but he's a bit more of a gentleman and takes no for an answer so she doesn't need to hurt him too bad, well thats my strange love story

Oh my gosh sooo funny!!!! That's a big turkey too. And how lucky was that for you to get all three roosters ?

I had a customer email me back after six months to tell me the two runner ducklings she bought turned out to be drakes. One of them would hold her silkie chicken down while the other had his way with her. The drakes were so aggressive with the hen the owner had to re-home the drakes.

I too have a rooster in love with the turkey hens. He paces back and forth along their pen and the turkey hens coo at him as if flirting back. Too funny.

My rouen drake spent a while trying to mate with my buff orpington hens, even though he has a rouen hen of his own.

He mysteriously stopped after the buff orpingtons decided they're guinea fowl instead of chickens, and has mostly left all the chickens alone since then.
