I see "love making" from my animals at least four times a day (if I'm lucky to only see it happen four times). Usually it's about 12 times. Today I went to feed my ducks, and I have some that have hit sexual maturity about two weeks ago. I have seen it all, feathers gone, males on males because they don't want the females I paired them with. Or whatever the case. I have females that rape males. So much more. Today was was way not what I expected. When I was feeding them, I'm used to mallards being very brutal. But when I was feeling my malard males, one of my Muscovy females, flew in. I did not think anything about it(my muscovys fly to me to eat everyday). Well she jumped on top of him (I have seen muscovys do it when the choose a mate) but instead of her releasing him, she started to rip out his feathers, across him back, and his leg is messed up. (he's right now in full isolation) but is there anything I can that can help her not be so damn agressive to the males? She has reached full maturity about two weeks ago, and literally everyday, when a drake tries, she will literally flip them off, and attack them. (It's fine it's normal) but she is now becoming so agressive with the drake's. Yesterday, a drake tried and she flipped him over, and started to literally try to rip his feathers apart, and bite, scratch and kill him. I managed to be a few feet away so before feathers went flying I grabbed him. But today I was to far away. Thankfully she only ripped the feathers out on his back and did not kill him. (Yes his leg is prob sprained) but she is brutal. My other female muscovys are brutal, do the same, but when the drake mounts the hens, there good. All drake's walk away alive. Her on the other hand...

Hello there, how many ducks to drakes do you have?
Are you certain of their genders?
Yes I'm 100% percent positive. I have two drake's and each drake has 5 hens. She also is showing signs of wanting to lay, I checked her pelvis as well, and she is she showing the signs. She is just extremely brutal. The other males, she has flipped them, attacked them, chased them. As soon as I see her being a ass. I pick her up, I let her perch on my arm while I walk around and do whatever I need. Just like this time, the only difference is I couldn't get to the poor drake fast enough.

I don't know either. She is the smallest Muscovy I have, and the most human gentle. Her name is blue eyes. She is pure white and half the size of my Perkins. Her sister (I bought both from a cute elderly woman, with one other) the other she attacked. A drake with a black dot on his back. All of my ducks I raised from 24 hours old. (I actually took them as they all three eggs were hatching) The muscovys (fly) so I do not clip the wings. I let them all free range, when I call them they fly right to me. Her sister is a full blood. (Her I think is a Perkin mixed). I was thinking maybe she denied the male? (He's with the Perkins since he does not have any of the obvs red muscovys face). She is so sweet. My children pick her up and all, her sister is hormonal. So I handle her, but she is is the most evil breeding duck I have. Currently the male I can post pics. I just checked him after a late bath to get the extra mud off to let him de stress, he is full skin, and the holes from the her Ripping out feather barbs have now closed. I am now 100 percent sure his leg is not strained. It's only two options, it's broke up high, or she completely torn it out of socket. I can flip him over for pictures for torn socket. I felt it and it feels dislocated. But I'm going to give it a few before I flip him over to see if it's dislocated.
Hmm, maybe seperate her until the hormones even out a bit. I'm note sure why else she would be so onery.

I can have some pretty ornery Muscovy females once hormones begin in spring. one especially will go after anything usually my oldest rooster but so far she hasn't been able to catch him. She will jump on other females though and it's usually the Runners and Buffs, she actually hatched this group and lives with them. She does boss the other female Muscovy though. But she has never gone after the Runner or Muscovy drake.
Hopefully, once your female starts laying she'll settle down some. But I tell ya they can sure be a handful.
I'm starting to see hormonal changes in all my birds [chickens, ducks, and my goose] so it's just a matter of time now before things get really interesting.

If your drake has a dislocated leg I'd get him to a vet ASAP. A sprain you can deal with a break or dislocation I'm not so sure. Plus he is most likely in pain and they can give him pain meds. :welcome
