I was wondering if the long nails are hurting my ducks and if there’s a way to trim or shorten them my ducks are afraid of a lot of things so idk how well it would work

Welcome to BYC! They do look a little too long and they might benefit from a trim. Are these indoor or outdoor ducks, and what breed are they?

Have you ever trimmed the nails of a cat or dog?

They are like cat or dog nails, You shine a light through and see where the "Quick" is

if you cut the quick they bleed alot and can get infected very easily

And you can get the quick to receed like a dogs too

No worries, your reply is perfect!
Thank you!
I used the dog nails dremel to trim a little Cochin hens bill that would get over grown. I just wrapped her in a towel and grind it down.
Those are great! I might try on my birds their nails get so long in the winter, all they have to scratch is shavings
