hi I am brand new to this but I had a duck nest 12 eggs in my backyard. I saw a coyote out there this morning at 6:30am, I shooed it off and it hadn’t touched the eggs but the momma flew off for a bit. I had to go to work and got back at 1pm and 5 were missing, 4 were broken / eaten and only 3 survived in the nest. I waited until about 7pm to see if momma would return and she didn’t so I brought them indoors and got them under a light. I ordered an incubator that will arrive tomorrow but I have no idea if the eggs are any good anymore since they were alone for a few hours. They were cold when I grabbed them but the weather was luckily on the warm side in MA today. My question is if the eggs can be saved. Once again I have never done this before nor do I know any terminology. I’m just try to save a few babies.

Well if I can say one thing...what a nice person you are. Someone will be along that knows about helping with the eggs...if possible. I am always amazed at the number of people here that go out of their way, and the expense, of helping out these little creatures when they cross our paths. This is truly a collection of some of the best people . Good luck and if your eggs don't make it.....I can't express enough how much fun ducks are to have around. (Muscovys are great) and it is chick season down at your local farm store. You should have some.

So through my limited research I don't think that 2 of the eggs made it and I'm iffy about the third. I have no idea how old they are to even know if they've been developing correctly.
