I was so hoping to have a duck that would lay a beautiful bluish or green tinted egg. Earlier this week - I was surprised with the first one. Not too sure yet exactly who is laying them- But I love the colour. They are very small eggs- the duck in question was would only be 18 weeks old. Here is the first three laid over the last four days- along side of a " normal" egg I get from my girls.

Is anyone else out there hoping to get some coloured eggs ?? Or do you just prefer them to be white??

I get eggs that like that from my black swedish, and my cayuga lays blueish gray eggs, I havent gotten any from my young ones though.

Cayuga eggs are a lovely colour. I dont think I could ever feel comfortable eating one hard boiled still in the shell though....

They are pretty eggs, but I'm hoping to get white eggs to use in crafts and such. Guess a Pekin won't try to lay anything but white eggs though, so I'm safe. I'm glad you got what you wanted.

Our Anconas lay green, white, grey/purple tinted, and cream-colored eggs!

Here's an old photo of some green next to a white one. I'm working on new photos of the grey/purple next to green & white.
