In the Brooder
Hi all.
My name is Julie and I'm a 58 year old retiree.
I live in a semi-urban area of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I am a retired Crime Scene Investigator and am enjoying retirement life. I live in a townhome community where there is a high amount of speeding vehicle traffic. There are also many man-made and natural lakes in the area and with that, we have a large Muscovy Duck population. Unfortunately, many here consider the ducks to be pests and look for ways to get rid of them, and that includes killing them by running over them with their cars. It breaks my heart and I have had to dispose of many a murdered duck carcass in front of my home.
I have posted a new thread on the DUCK section as I have specific questions about duck behavior, particularly baby ducks. I'm not even sure if there's a name for baby ducks other than baby ducks.
I respect all life and hope to learn from all the experts on here. Thanks so much!
