Duck not growing.

Help. My little duck is 3 months old and has not grown much at all. No feathers coming in still has its down! It gets around fine eats well. But idk what to do for it. I literally have it in with a quail. Which is no working anymore because the male quail is trying to breed with it and is pulling out the down. Any suggestions welcome.

It's a rouen/Ancona mix it hatched under one of my chicken hens but yes mom and dad were my own birds. I was feeding all flock but when the others got bigger and I separated started giving this little one purina duck.

Like I said the missing down is from the quail I put in to keep it company. Now I'm not sure what to place with the little duck that don't grow.

That is very interesting. I hope someone can shed some insight. Just a few weeks ago someone posted and their 2-3 month old duckling still had down as well, though she was posting for a different reason.

How odd. He may have some sort of dwarfism, though he seems pretty proportionate. Might be a deficiency of some sort? @Wyorp Rock, @Eggcessive, any thoughts?

Are they standing on the wire all the time? Or do you put bedding in there? The wire will really hurt their feed and can give them infections such as bumblefoot.

There are actually boards that they spend most the time on. But it's in the house tonight. Temps in low 60s make me worry with no feathers.

If he doesn't seem under weight, and is eating and drinking properly, my guess would be he has genes that make him a bantam. They had to breed call ducks from some genes in the mallards, no reason to say it can't happen unintentionally too.
