Duck obsessed with reflection in new window?

I broke my basement window in my old century home and replaced it with a new one. Apparently, my other basement windows are rather dirty and/or old because now my big Musovy drake Hamish sits infront of the window all day. He sees his reflection and becomes obsessed with it. Does he think it is another drake? He will literally sit there ALL day and not eat or drink. I don't know but, how smart are these ducks? What does he think is going on? Should I put something in the window so he realizes it's not real?

It's kind of sad in a funny way...or vice versa..

He has 2 females that he loves. Well until the new window that is....

Oh, that's easy then. He just wants to know who "the new guy" is, and once he figures out that "the new guy" is not a threat to his girls, I'm sure he'll be over it.

It's been an entire week.....I feel like that should have been plenty of time!!?

He is being very thorough. He wants to be absolutely certain.

They see the reflrction as part of the flock, as a result I put a mirrorin my evening duck pen they walk up to it and lay in front to be with the other ducks they see in the mirror.
