Still pretty new at this. We first started with 3 Pekin ducks back in April (2 drakes and 1 hen), then in June I got two Rhode Island Red chickens (1 rooster, 1hen).

Walked out to the coop this am and found this. Not sure who it’s from... I’m thinking my Pekin hen because my reds are suppose to lay brown eggs, but they are both at the age to be able to lay. Help would greatly be appreciated

OH and watch your females as your ratios of male to female are NOT real good at least according to my experience and from what I have read.
I’m hoping with them all being the same age and the fact she’s pretty bossy I won’t but I will definitely keep an eye on them. What did you have to do in your experience?

either get more females. or have a separate place to either put the "naughty boys" or the female for a rest. Also keep an eye on the amount of feather on the heads of the females , a lot of missing feathers can be a good sign of over breeding.

Thank you for the advice.

Twisted is right, Both your duck AND chicken ratio are very unheathy. I would get at LEAST three more chickens for your rooster and five more hens for your drakes either that or get rid of one and get two more hens... Your Rooster will eventually cause your hen to lose all her neck/back/ wing feathers and same goes for your drakes. I had a terrible experience with ducks. Had five drakes and one hen got rid of three drakes thinking that was enough, My poor girl was harassed to the point where she lose the will to walk poor thing. Same goes for chickens. Had a bad case where one of my Easter eggers lost all her feathers on her back a got a huge gash down the side of her back from roosters tearing it up.
