Hey everyone out of nowhere my dog I’ve noticed is having weird balance issues he bobs his head around and can’t keep his balance and I’m not sure if he hurt himself somehow or somethings going on internally that I don’t know about I did notice also something little different around one of his eyes I’m sending a video and a picture can somebody tell me what I can do to help? Does anybody know what’s wrong because he was fine.

Is this the same duck from your other thread that had trouble walking? Did you start it on niacin?
Is it acting normal otherwise?
As far as the eye, it looks like foamy eye which is common in ducks. Just make sure they have access to clean water daily.

hi I’m having a similar issue with my 4 month old male Pekin duck as well. He definitely has some strange balance issues, with a lot of head bobbing/swinging and either flips over onto his back, or falls forward or backwards-to say he’s unsteady is an understatement. Once I get him into the water he’s fine. All of my ducks, I have 7, get fed waterfowl food with a sprinkling of kelp and brewers yeast. None of the others have this issue. And some days he’s ok and can stay on his feet and other days it’s beyond miserable. I’m at a loss as to what I should do.

@Cancan71 I'd try some liquid B complex over a tasty treat and see if it helps. The liquid B complex works when brewer's yeast won't. 1ml is the dose TSC carries it if your in the USA. It will say injectable but we use it orally.
Be careful putting him in water if he has trouble getting out of the pool. Pekin a notorious for having niacin deficiency which can cause lameness, unsteady gait and neurological issues.
If you can get a video posted that would help.

I’m having difficulty posting a video for some reason- beyond frustrating. Yesterday was a good day for him. Just slightly unsteady, but you can see how dirty he is, that’s from falling over onto his back. In the pics I screenshot from the video, he started out standing at the water bowl but immediately became unsteady fell backwards and then had to sit. He has a crazy waddle when he walks as well and keeps himself closer to the ground as compared to the other ducks. I have added the liquid vitamin b supplement to the water so hopefully this helps him.
