I have 3 Pekin ducks that have been being raised with 6 chickens and they are all about 3 mouths old and free range. I just got 8 more chicks that are 3 wks old a couple days ago. I have been taking out in the yard in a cage so the other chickens can be introduced and get used to each other. Two of the ducks have been hanging around the cage and chasing the chickens away. What I was wondering is if the ducks might be trying to take care of them? I don't want to just let them out yet and hope the others or even the ducks would hurt them. Has anyone heard of ducks wanting to raise ducks?
