I am raising my first ducks this year. I have had some adult muscovies in the past but not young ones. I have moved the ducklings to any outside brooder hutch. So tonight I make the rounds to be sure they are okay and when I hold up the lantern to the hutch one starts making a strange grinding hissing kind of sound. I thought maybe it was eating something at first because the sound was faint, I go back a few minutes later and it makes a louder sound at me. Also it sounded almost like it was going to quack at me. Do you think it's a drake?
