Duck tongues?

So I wondered what you all thought about duck tongues?

Specifically what I'm asking is...

Sometimes I'll see my ducks and ducklings stretch. They do this thing where they stretch a leg behind them, sometimes with a wing, and also arch the neck and open their mouths.

When they do it, its hard to tell if their tongue can separate very much from their lower mouth's bill? This is the part I was wondering about. What do you think about it?

I have never given it much thought as long as it wasn't hanging out and dragging on the ground. I found this info.

About half of their tongue is connected to the lower portion of their mouth, the rest can be raised like our's, but not with as much flexibility.
