Duck trying to quack?

Hello all,

My Khaki C. is going on 3 weeks old this Monday. It use to be the little peeping noise and now I keep hearing this weird noise. The closer I listen to it... I am thinking it is the beginning of quacking?

It sounds like a honk... and it is every now and again and it seems like He/She is trying really hard to make the noise / concentrate when they do it. Then they'll stop and go about peeping again. But their peep has turned into a little bit raspy peep.

Is my KC trying to quack? Or is this just a normal sound? Or something else?

First time duck owner here so unsure how the quack progresses (peep progresses into quacking).

What you described is essentially the beginnings of your duck starting to quack. It seems to me like different ducks develop their quacks at different times. My Cayuga and Welsh Harlequin females really didn't start making adult duck noises until about 2 weeks after my Pekin and Black Swedish did (@3 weeks for the latter, @5 weeks for the former).
