duck wing bleeding small protrusion what is it? (pics)

This duck (her name is Pidge) has this weird protrusion and a little blood so I brought her inside (to my 'ducky hospital room' and I ran warm water on it then sprayed it with MicrocynAH (poultry care) The pics show the little protrusion I wonder if it was a broken feather shaft? and do I need to use tweezers and yank it out but I dont want to do that unless absolute necessary... like if it didnt stop bleeding , BUT it did stop, at least so far. thanks God. I saw another duck bite at the blood spot so I DONT KNOW if I should bring in one of the nicer ducks to the hospital room to keep Pidge company or not? I know it is stressful for duck to be alone should I bring in a friend and I guess try t watch for a while before I go to sleep?

I will tag @Miss Lydia @Isaac 0 , and @casportpony to see if they think this is a blood feather that needs to be pulled out. Make sure that it is not a bone.

It does look like a broken blood feather. I have never had to remove one so can't help you there. Hopefully someone who has can reply. Pidge will probably be more relaxed if she had one of her flock mates with her.

I agree it looks like a broken blood feather. Here's a good link with instructions for healing a broken blood feather that has stopped bleeding and also detailed step-by-step instructions on how to remove one that has not stopped bleeding (pictures as well).

Thank you so much. I just looked at a diagram of duck's skeletal system, and after seeing the placement of the 'thumb bone' Im concerned that is perhaps what is sticking out!?! I'll check out that healing link. and I did give her a friend

Then I would hold off trying to pull it out with pliers. But if that is bone sticking out, infection could occur.
