Duck with leg feathers?

Anyone else seen this before? Rosebud is about two months old (Rouen) and I’ve noticed for the last two weeks that she has these fuzzy feathers on both her legs.

I wish I had the money to fund a gene mapping project to see if this is a new mutation in domestic ducks or if it’s a very old dormant vestigial trait like remnant pelvic bones in whales.
Maybe it’s what’s left over from early bird ancestors leg feathers?
