Duck won't lay

Hi I have a friend and she has one duck that is over a year old but still isn't laying. I suggested that it may be that her duck is just lonely, as I had a similar situation with a chicken. Would I be right or could it be something else? I don't really have duck experience.

Could be, but there are many other things that could result in same. Sorry, not the answer you wanted, I bet.

You could be right, but it's not easy to know. Have they tried an unbreakable mirror? Might a friend be a possibility?
