hello all, i have a pretty good sized coop - 8x16 x6ft tall. i have 6 metzer golden layer ducks with my chickens. Never owned ducks before these ones... and ive come to learn that ducks are a neurotic bunch... if you look at em wrong they start getting nervous.. pretty loud girls too. anyways, at night a chicken is pretty much plays dead - easy to grab them, move near them, etc. these ducks, if they hear ANYTHING outside the coop they start chattering and moving around making noise. anyways, long story short - it seems like it'd be a decent deterrent to something on the prowl.... raccoon or possum or skunk... or maybe their loud chatter sounds like a dinner bell.... i dunno, any ideas?

My ducks are the same way, just make sure that the coop is secure as possible in case those pest do hear dinner bells!

haha yeah no kiddin'... those coyotes will be hearing some "fricasseeing duck"... haha, i love bugs and daffy... wabbit season! duck season!

Yup, the smallest noise will set them off. And if my goose doesn't know you she will start honking as loud as possible.
