Hey guys, i've been kinda MIA due to my busy schedule.. school full time and working on the weekends and spending time with my babies!! Also we are moving.. we are gona be out of here in 2 weeks! I have 2 broodies and idk what to do. One is on an unfertilized nest but i'm just going to let her ride it out and get it out of her system i see others doing that so figured i would too. One of them is on a nest of fertilized eggs and i want to let her hatch them if they will (her last 3 clutches have been 100% unsuccessful

) sooo my question is how do i move her? i have seen that broodies will leave the nest of you move it. she is in a dog house on her nest.. i am hoping the bottom is supportive.. will that be the best way to move her? my dad said we could close up the opening (leave air holes of course) and move her that way. will she stay on her nest?? thank you!

Can you get close to her in the nest? Swapping the eggs out for the move will stop them getting damaged. If she will let you, you could try taking the unfertile eggs and put them in her nest , keeping the fertile ones warm somewhere for the drive as long as it is not too far away. Then when you get her into the new place give her back the fertile eggs once she is settles and sitting again.

Hey there lovesduckies!!!!!!! Wow ..just two weeks left?? I bet you cant wait. Get your incubator started up at the new place just in case things go wrong.... But From what you tell me about quackers- I think she will do fine with the move...... She has already hatched a clutch in your bedroom... so this could be a breeze for her.

Make sure there is plenty of nesting material on the dog house before you move it so the eggs cant roll around to much though.

You will do what ever is needed as you go because I know you love your scovies (mussies). Your dad offers good helpful advice. At the end of the day & post the move, you will continue on your way to mussie husbandry lovingly regardless of any adverse move outcomes; cause you love your mussies.

Fingers crossed, & best of luck with the move

i am not able to get anywhere near her eggs because she is like an attack dog haha.. i will giver some more stuff for her nest. ducky.. this could possibly be a breeze and you know how much that duck loves her eggies. she is one determined momma!!! i will set up the incubator just in case!!!! lol

THE DUCKIES ARE ALLLLL MOVED IN!! they all did pretty well!! the girls (fruitloops, alicia, and little foot) were kind of a pain but my mallards (fruitloops and little foot) are really skittish. alicia is usually really good but she has been broody for a while so she's had a temper. i got hit in the face with wings a few times haha but they seem to enjoy their new pen. my boyfriend built me some nice doors!! after we dropped the girls off we went back for duckie and quackers (who is broody on a fertile nest). duckie, oh goodness that duck! he's so funny!! i love him!! i told him to get in the crate and she shook his head lol. it was so funny!! but he got in and was kinda mad for awhile.. but he got over it.i tapped up quackers opening in her house and left some open for air and she did good! no bites!! she's still on her nest!! i am soooo glad she didn't abondon it!! the next morning i got outside to feed my babies and somehow he got out and he was in the empty stall just chillen and then he just walked up to me waggin his tail like he had done thing wrong lol so i couldn't be mad at him lol. he's so hard to be mad at lol. soo anyway i took some pics of them today and you can tell which picture i told duckie to say cheese and he posed lol. i think he learned a new trick.. i have to experiment with that one lol.. here are some pics!!

WOW! Looks great- they are so going to love all the extra room they have now. Hope you work out soon where Duckie got out from- coz if he can get out- something else may be able to get in. I bet you are glad the move is over now. I hate to think about how I would go when I ever have to move from hear with so many fences and pens to go as well. I noticed in the photo of Quackers- she has some eggs rolled out- I hope she got them tucked back in under her- I have my fingers crossed she will hatch some out soon for you after the last two times not going well. It sure would be nice for you to have babies so soon at your new place.

those are eggs she kicked out.. they don't look good either.. i am going to throw them out.. i think i might know how he got out sooo i'm going to fix it.. if i'm right then he is a better flyer than i give him credit for LOL. i think he got up on the crate and flew out of the top... but idk.. he is a pretty good flyer.. idk we shall see.. i am happy to have the move over with.. now it's just setting up my room.. bleh haha.. idk where to put anything.. i am in here now going nuts! yaaa moving for you would suck waaaay bad!! lol
