Woke up this morning to one of our ducklings (1wk old) with a broken leg. She just drags it along when she does try to move can’t even hold it up or tuck it up into her body when she lays down it just dangles behind her. I am going to see how she uses it swimming after I make sure she’s had enough to eat and drink. I don’t know what to do if anything. Maybe splint it, but how?

Do you know where the break is? Do you have a picture od the duckling?

I do not know where the break is. Her whole leg is floppy. While in the tub I was hoping to see her move it but she did not, this makes me think it is above the femur. I currently have wrapped her leg up to her body and looking for a vet that can get an X-ray.

With such a young bird, I think you will find the best prognosis seeing a vet, I would most certainly recommend looking further for a vet that can see your bird. In the meantime, try to keep the duckling in a warm area, that's soft padded to reduce pressure to her feet. Offering a poultry vitamin every now and then or some scrambled eggs may be beneficial. Here is some info regarding splinting:

Oh no ..just wrap her leg and with a Support to her bone for 3 weeks and give suppliments calcium D3 it will heal just give right Support to the bone with straight cardboard

With young ducklings, you have to be a little careful giving calcium supplements as it can often result in hypercalcemia and kidney damage. Offering some greens high in calcium with grit provided may be sufficient itself.
