The chick was born with its yolk out but busted it while in the process of absorbing. I've looked at other threads and saw that it would only be safe to cut it off if it was completely dry, but when I tried it seemed like it was hurting so I didn't cut it. Any advice? The chick is eating and drinking and it's full of energy.

Howdy, :frow and Welcome to Backyard Chickens.

Happy :ya to have you here with us. Enjoy your time here at BYC!

As long as it's eating and drinking, I wouldn't mess with it. It will eventually dry up and fall off.

Thanks for joining our community! :celebrate

I would leave it for now.
