Duckling Choking Hazards

Took my week old babies outside for the first time yesterday and they were trying to eat EVERYTHING. I've had dogs get blockages from eating things they shouldn't so I'm extra nervous about them doing the same, we have lots of pieces of wood mulch and pebbles and sticks buried in the grass. How concerned about this do I need to be? I feel like I'm overreacting because ducklings in the wild would be free ranging but theyre just trying to swallow anything they can get their bills on!

They like to fiddle with objects in their mouth, rarely do they actually eat it. If they are foraging on grass, it'd be a good idea to offer a small dish of grit to help aid the gizzard in digesting the tough matter.
