I have 2 new 1 week old ducklings who are weak right now. it's not niacin deficiency because their water have multivitamins and water on it. They don't want to eat. I suspect they ate the rice husk bedding and they got indigestion. Usually I feed them chick booster and they use to eat it like crazy. They just drink and bath.

Do they have access to grit (small rocks)? We chew with teeths in our mouths, but birds chew with grit in their gizzards. They need grit if they eat anything other than poultry feed.

They don't, they are being hand raised inside a box. I was thinking it could be the pinioning but They are pinioned a week ago and they were pretty much normal on their first week. It is their 9th day when they start acting weak.

If you think that they ate some bedding then they need chick grit asap. They won't be able to break down any ingested bedding without it which in turn will stop them up and kill them if they can't pass it. Also are you using a crumbled or pelleted feed?

all of them died. The last one who died have foam in the mouth. I change their vitamin water every 3 hours to make sure it wont spoil so I think the cause of death is the bedding. This is the first time I have ducks eat bedding. My adult ducks don't eat the rice husk bedding.

Awe I'm sorry😭 It won't help now, but I always start my ducklings off by using old towels instead of bedding for the first 3 weeks to avoid slipped tendons and them ingesting bedding.
