Duckling Help

I recently rescued a duck with some serious wry neck from Tractor Supply. They told me he was about 6 weeks old and never given any treatment. So I took him, and his fiesty friend who is very bonded to him. I took him to the vet and started him on prednisone and vitamins but he isn't improving much. The vet thinks they waited too long, and he likely won't improve, just continue to decline. My question is: I only have those 2 ducks, should I get a third duck now so they can all hopefully bond now in the event the sick one doesn't make it, or can I wait to see. I'm concerned if I try to introduce a new duck after the other one passes it won't go well. Thoughts?

If me I would go ahead and get another duck. That way if this one doesn't make it the one will have a buddy for support they really do so much better if they have another duck for security. Your so sweet for taking this duck in and having it treated. I hope it does begin to heal.
