I have some ducklings that are almost 2 weeks old. All are doing very well but one who I found unable to stand and walk today. I keep seeing all this talk about niacin deficiencies and was wondering if this could be related. I am new to the duck world so am looking for any help out there.

Niacin deficiency is always my first guess when young ducks have leg troubles.

However, duck legs get injured easily and ducks can slip tendons. Bumble foot causes limping. Bones in the foot are tiny and can be broken. Broken toenails will cause limping.

I suggest that you examine the foot and leg. Try the niacin because that is what the usual problem is.

Check your feed to be sure it has a good calcium phosphorus ratio and also a bit of sunshine will provide vitamin D, which is needed in order to use the calcium.
