Hi guys!

So I have this cute little swedish blue duckling in my incubator that started pipping a little over 48 hours ago. He was fully out of his egg last night at around 6:00, which is now 18 hours ago. However, he has been attatched to part of his egg through the yolk sac ever since he hatched. When he first hatched, the yolk sac was what looked like completely full, and now it is down to a string that is about the same thickness as yarn. He is completely dry and trying to walk and flop around, but he looks like he is uncomfortable and in pain. He is chirping loudly, and kicking at his yolk sac attatchment. I know it is not the umbillical cord that he is still attatched with, because the yolk sac is much thicker around than the umbillical cord would be. I have called many many veternarians, and searched all over the web in search for someone who has an answer, yet I still haven't gotten a straight one.

I don't know if I should cut it and clamp it, or just continue to let it shrink and fall off (which I dont think it's moist enough to do), or what. The duckling just looks so sad and uncomfortable that I just can't take it.

If anyone knows what to do, please reply! I stayed home from school today to help this little one out, so hopefully I can! Any help is much appreciated, thank you.
