Duckling Watch 2k17!

Congrats on your ducklings arriving safe and sound. I never even got an alert after I first posted so It was a nice surprise to see it all went well and your happy and they are healthy. They are adorable. :love

Thank you very much! In the near future I'll be ordering three more ducks from Mcmurray, then I'll further develop my flock naturally from there. I'm very happy with the ducklings and my experience with the hatchery! :love

Hello everyone! A quick update (while I procrastinate today's housework :frow)

The ducklings are two weeks and a day old today. I had to contact McMurray for a refund on one of them (he is fine and perfectly healthy, but not the bird I ordered!) which took quite a bit of convincing and left me feeling frustrated, but I understand the need to be thorough. Luckily, I not only had pictures of my birds with their legbands on upon arrival, but I also kept the actual legbands as well. So there wasn't much room for argument once I sent those pictures. :) Their sales team were very fast in communicating with me via email once my initial message was responded to within a couple of days, and it didn't take me long to receive a phone call to confirm whether I wanted my original breed of choice shipped to me today or at a later date, a refund to my credit card, or my account credited. I chose to credit my account as I'll be ordering more birds soon.

My birds have been completely without a heat source for quite a few days now -- as it turns out the temperature in my room was not only sufficient for them, but actually too much at times. I still catch them panting every once in a while so I've turned my ceiling fan on for them, hoping it won't be detrimental for them by causing a draft.

I hope to have a PVC pen set up for them soon. In the meantime, they had their first trip outside yesterday!
