Ok my ducklings are going on 2wks old, and I need to know how much food intake they are suppose to be getting. it seems they are always hungry....so I thought I'd ask. I know they have to have alot of water. I have 4 ducklings....so can anyone please tell me and also when do I start giving them other things such as greens and all???

They are always hungry and thirsty. They go through crazy amount of food and water. They grow so much faster than chicks. Just keep a steady supply. They eat less once theyre grown. You can give them finly chopped greens and grass and mashed up peas pretty much right away, from what i have read.

In the next week- your ducklings could consume around 2 pounds of food each- depending on what you are feeding and how. Do you leave a container with food in the brooder at all times- or just fill at a few times a day? Greens cans also be added in small portions to their diet now - but the main source of nutrition should remain the pellets for a while for optimum health. .

Ducklings should be hungry. I would not give them any ruffage (greens) until they are a little older like 3 weeks, etc. Make sure they have enough water to dip their bills up to including the nostrils. Yup, very messy, but necessary........

feed non stop....I didnt know that, thought they were like my flocks when chicks....poor babies, mama's been mean....thanks so much...right now I take them outside, I keep them in a rabbied hutch, wired top with heat lamp still....and when I take them to sun during the day...I take the top wire part and I lay it on the grass, and let them stay out during the day...I put a board over half of the cage so they can also have shade....but when I go to my flocks, I uncover them and the follow me to the back of the property...if they get behind they run real fast to catch up...its cute!

I also sit with them outside, and get my grand daughters old bath tub and let them swim....

As they get older and they stop growing, then they only eat when they feel like it. However, when they are babies they are growing non stop. Mine were always eating/drinking. Now they are almost 5 week old (tomorrow), and they only eat once in a while. It's completely normal.
