I have 10 ducklings, they’re all about 3.5 weeks old... During the day, I keep them in an enclosure that’s about 10x16 but at night I move them all to a different cage which is much smaller and honestly probably too small... well this morning several of them came out of the cage with gashes on their necks and bodies. Do baby ducks attack each other?! I wasn’t expecting this. Their 10x16 enclosure isn’t totally night-predator proof, hence the smaller cage at night but I’m starting to think they’re more of a danger to each other! A larger night-time cage is certainly in order, and will likely get one today.

If you are using a metal wire cage it also could be from the ducklings trying to escape the crowded area by sticking their heads through the metal wires.

I just had a block of 13 Juniors two of them were offenders and were attacking the other baby and hurting them pulling their quills making them bleed those two offenders had been through an extreme amount of stress before coming to me they're probably stressing out too small of quarters but keep your eyes open I had to actually catch those two in separate them from the rest
