Hi so ducky hatched around 8 this morning (now 8pm) and he is all dry etc still in incubator, but I’m worried as he can’t walk and can’t really hold up head for while, he hasn’t opened eyes yet, he is very active lots of leg movements and wriggling he stands but flops I’m just worried he isn’t going to survive

Is it just a matter of waiting to see how he goes?

12 hours seems like a long time that he isn’t opening his eyes
Did he hatch himself ? Was he assisted ? If assisted was there any yolk left ?
I’m wondering if he has egg goo that’s keeping his eyes closed
But it dried really hard And needs warm water rubbing gently ti get it off

He was assisted because his wing was dried to the inside of the shell, but this was after 48hrs of piping, there was no yolk when he got out

Everything I have read on here by those who use bators for hatching is assisted take quite a bit longer to recoup. Do you have poultry cell or Nutri drench if you do you might try tiny drop one at a time just inside the bill. Give the duckling time to swallow after each drop

That brings me to the goo dried like cement on him
If he was stuck in the egg he most likely has the goo on his body snd eyes
I did have this happen to one of the schools I let hatch
We had to take warm water and clean and chest him till he could open his eyes and move
His kegs were glued to his belly at the hip area
Maybe give this a try as it’s the only thing I can think of

How adorable, on the treats be sure they don't overdo. The starter is what gives them the nutrients they need to grow strong and if that is a Pekin they need extra niacin since they grow so fast so if you're not using any form of niacin I rec putting Nutritional yeast over the feed 1 Tablespoon to each cup of feed.
Time released and flush free will not give them the niacin they need so stay clear of them.
