Hi, one of my duck eggs has pipped but it’s been 24hrs and no sign of zipping. I am slightly worried because we have not been able to know the humidity levels during incubation and the eggs have only lost 6-10% weight. Should I wait until 48hrs. Last time I hatched ducklings I had to assist and my duckling was shrink wrapped. Any advice on what to do would be appreciated. I’m reluctant to do anything because I don’t want to burst a blood vessel. Thanks

My last hatch externally pipped late Sunday night/early Monday morning. The first duck hatched 11pm Tuesday and the last duck hatched 5am Wednesday. And they didn’t start zipping until an hour or so before they hatched so I think you’ve still got time until you should start worrying.

What ended up happening? I’ve got a duckling that’s externally pipped but hasn’t started zipping. It’s been 24hrs. The egg also doesn’t seem to be moving.
