So tonight is the ducklings first night outside and I'm like staying up late watching them through the window because I'm anxious as heck. They're in a fenced in pen, not holes at all/not anything big enough for even them to squeeze head through, top is covered so protected from flying things and those that can jump but still had gaps for air and light, a lamp over half the pen to scare off predators and provide warmth if needed, a small little hut in case they are cold and they're small kiddie pool.
They're not near the light really at all which I'm taking means they aren't cold, they've actually been in the pool a lot which is my worry. It's midnight and one is still in the pool like she's just sitting in it? They're also in the pool all day and can very easily get in and out so I'm not worried she's stuck, but like why? Why is she still in the pool and is this ok to be in the pool so long? Is she sleeping in the water??
