ducklings with nailpolish??

Would it be OK to dab a bit of nail polish on my ducklings feet so we can tell which are female and males? I ordered straight run ducklings and plan to sex them myself but did not buy bands (totally forgot). Would a bit of nailpolish on their feet be OK until I get the bands??

Get a bee marking pen. These pens are used for marking the queens so you can tell what year they are from. The sticks come in different colors and are safe. Plus it will stay on. Here is a link to one company selling it:

Or just google it and find other suppliers. Ebay may even have it too.

Thanks, but I was hoping to use something I had in the house already so I can vent sex them now and when the bands I ordered get here later I can easily put them on by locating the ducks with the nailpolish.
