Ducklings

Good evening. I have week old ducklings and i was wondering what i can start giving them for treats?

Whenever you want but be sure it is a very tiny portion. Their main food needs to be the starter crumble. Also, they will need some chick grit sprinkled around their cage or in a dish. I usually start mine with a little grass floating in their water. Lettuce is great too but I figure better to get them used to the free stuff first.

since they are a week old its really best to just stick to their starter since that is where most of the nutrition they need is coming from. I did give my ducklings a little crushed up slightly Mealworms but what they really liked was the treat ball [TSC} you can put mealworms in it and they roll it around and the treat falls out. They had a blast with that ball.

I wait till mine are about 2-3 weeks to start treats but I can’t get chibk grit here and have to go to the next level of grit
I keep a bowl out at all times of grit
Even in the summer I provide it. Often they don’t touch it in summer as they get what they need from the ground
I start with meal worms and peas

Thank you for reminding me of grit. @Countryman101 be sure to get chick grit for your ducklings they need it if eating anything other than their starter. Just be sure to put it in a separate bowl from their feed. They will use it as they need it
